Susan D. Rubin, MSS, LCSW

“Get your head in the game”is a phrase that is familiar to every ‘tween in America.  It was made popular by a certain television musical about high school students torn between sports, arts, academics and a longing to fit in with their peers.  Though the phrase is commonplace -  truly getting your head into the game while perfecting the art of balancing life and sport; rigorous academic demands, social stressors, practice schedules... can be a profound challenge.  Athletes can be undermined by their minds.

Many athletes struggle to overcome limitations, not of their physical bodies, but of their thoughts and beliefs.   Ms. Rubin facilitates their ability to soar past those artificial barriers.  Utilizing conventional therapeutic methods as well as guided imagery to reduce stress and alleviate performance anxiety athletes are enabled to reach their stated individual goals and to achieve their personal best - both on and off the field.
